As a Des Moines Photographer, I haven’t finished going through all the images from yesterday’s wedding, however as a Des Moines Photographer, I wanted to toss some teasers up. Saturday turned out to be a drizzly chilled Spring day. The venue was the Rollins Mansion, which I think not only complimented Pat & Janice really well, but also allowed us different avenues to manage the weather. We were able to shoot in the beautiful mansion, and then when the rain let up, we ventured outside for a few photos to finish up our shooting. This couple was amazingly lovely inside and out. Janice was so radiant! As a Des Moines Photographer, I also wanted to shout out to the DJ at the venue. When we were in crunch time with the reception, he went beyond what most DJ’s do and helped us to stay on track. I always tell clients that having a good DJ can be great for time management and helping to move the crowd and guests along to the next task.

As a Des Moines photographer, I am so excited to post a few teaser photos of my most recent session. Megan & TJ came in from Chicago this past weekend to do their engagement photos. We couldn’t have planned it for a better weekend! We were so lucky, and took advantage of the crisp warm weather in this February weekend. The shoot began with us winding around Court Ave and finished at RoCA, where the couple ordered some of their favorite drinks. TJ and Megan were so cute. TJ would look at Megan, and her whole face would light up with a contagious smile. As a Des Moines photographer, I am so excited for this couple and am looking forward to their wedding coming up this April!
As a Des Moines Photographer, I started planning this styled shoot in August. I had gone hiking with my family and noticed the way the light played around the fields at Ledges State Park. It was so lovely. After that I found a stunning bridal gown, and started planning the whole shoot around the gown, & the fields. As a Des Moines Photographer, I started collaborating with some wonderful local vendors of Iowa. I started finding props here and there, some are from my own house and collection. Other props were purchased at Anthropologie, Rescued Junk by Old Crow, & thrift store finds. My vision for this shoot was to show the simplistic beauty, rich color tones mixed with soft. A vision of elegant yet bohemian style. A list of my amazing and wonderful friends, & vendors are listed bellow.

As a Des Moines photographer, I did my last wedding of the season last weekend. While I am still swamped with my busiest time of the year, I can’t help but look through and post some of their photos for teasers. I meet Bre and Josh earlier this summer, they are an incredibly sweet couple. On their wedding day the banter and love was so clear. Josh loved making Bre laugh and poke at her. It was like they were an old married couple already! It is that deep love you see that ebbs and flows with life. “. . . your roots are to become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is.” – Louis de Bernières
The ceremony was lovely, for part of their wedding they had a box with a bottle of wine, & letters to each other. They locked the box to open on their 10th anniversary. Josh’s reaction to seeing Bre for the first time was also a great moment! Such a beautiful day! Congrats Bre, Josh & Family.
